Borghesia was founded in late 1982 by the members of the FV 112/15 theatre, Aldo Ivančić and Dario Seraval (both born in 1959 in Pula, Croatia). After the group's performance at the 1983 Novi Rock festival it was joined by new members Goran Devide (born in 1960 in Zagreb, Croatia and died in 1988 in Maribor), Neven Korda (born in 1956 on the island of Rab in Croatia) and Zemira Alajbegović (born in 1958 in Pula, Croatia). It operated in Ljubljana as a multimedia group until 1989, working in music, performance, installation and video. The Borghesia multimedia project was a continuation of the work of individuals who previously had been active in the FV conglomerate (FV 112/15 theatre, Disco FV, FV Video, Založba FV publishing). The main video artists in the group were N. Korda and Z. Alajbegović. Apart from creating new video works for multimedia appearances and filming music videos, they documented the underground club scene of the 1980s and the group itself (see the part of the Videography related to the multimedia work of the group).
In 1985 Borghesia received the Zlata Ptica award for achievements in film (for the blending of music and video).
